ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Jason has proven himself to be an effective, solution-driven legislator committed to working hard for every Atlantan.
AFFORDABLE HOUSING
As costs continue to rise throughout the country, keeping housing affordable across Atlanta is one of Jason’s top priorities. On Council, he championed legislation designed to increase the number of affordable housing units throughout the City - especially in areas exhibiting rapidly rising costs. The initiative aims to create or preserve 20,000 affordable housing units by 2030. Jason has collaborated with Invest Atlanta and the Atlanta Housing Authority to prioritize incentivizing and prioritizing affordable housing. He has advocated for a wide array of housing affordability efforts throughout the city - to ensure all Atlantans can live comfortably.
PREVENTING & REVERSING HOMELESSNESS
Jason has led efforts to secure funding for innovative housing solutions - including Atlanta’s largest-ever investment in supportive housing. Jason also sponsored two resolutions resulting in over $3 million allocated to assist Atlantans experiencing homelessness, with an additional $2.4 million to Partners for Home, a group of non-profits dedicated to ending homelessness in Atlanta. Additionally, Jason introduced legislation to create a Homelessness task force to examine Atlanta's current policies and procedures towards addressing homelessness and identify areas of improvement.
SUPPORTING SMALL BUSINESSES AND ECONOMIC VITALITY
As a small business owner and member of the Invest Atlanta and the Atlanta Beltline Board of Directors, Jason has made supporting Atlanta’s small businesses a priority. Jason’s legislation to examine a variety of different measures - from tax incentives, lease subsidies, and public private partnerships - to lower the financial burden small businesses face passed council unanimously. Recognizing how difficult it was for many businesses during the recent pipeline burst, Jason supported legislation to ensure that small businesses most impacted throughout Atlanta could receive needed support. As an advocate for small business and economic vitality, Jason has driven efforts to support entrepreneurs and local job creation.
PUBLIC SAFETY
Jason advocates for balanced solutions that prioritize community health, safety, and well-being. He has championed Youth Violence Prevention Centers that provide critical resources and programs to steer youth away from crime, strengthening neighborhoods through community engagement. Jason regularly hosts public safety meetings for seniors in the district to update residents on the city’s challenges and gather valuable feedback from constituents. Notably, recent FBI data indicated a 21% drop in homicides citywide in 2023—with the precinct encompassing District 1 experiencing the largest decrease in crime across Atlanta. He remains deeply committed to maintaining safe, secure neighborhoods for every Atlantan.
